Trying to get bitpim to recognize my 9800. In the bitpim settings I chose the phone type as "VX-9800", for the com port selection I chose "COM2"... I have been switching the com's from COM1, COM2, COM3 & COM4 --- On my CPU I have two ports for the USB, I have also been switching the USB cord between the two... Bitpim is still not recognizing my phone. I have read other threads and followed the directions step by step...I have also ignored the fact the when I ask for Bitpim to "detect the phone" it doesnt... I moved past that and have been able to rip the songs from window's media player to bitpim...however, I cannot get the songs from bitpim to my phone... I am attempting this through the option "send data to phone". Are there any other sugg...

I don't know much about bitpim, but did you buy a crappy usb cable? Did it say like rapid fire on the box? If so it might be the cable. I would go to best buy or something and buy a quality one.

Ok I did some research and looks like it could be a couple of things.

You need to download drivers. Not sure where or which ones.

BITPIM

Now, download BitPim. Install, then run.

1. Click Edit -> Settings

2. Change Phone Type to LG-VX9800

3. Browse the Com Ports to find the one that works for you

4. To see FileSystem Tab, you have to click View -> View Filesystem

5. Click the FileSystem Tab

GENERAL INFO for Filesystem In Bitpim

Here are the locations for important files:

\Brew\16452\ ---

mf --- My Flix

mp --- My Pix

ms --- My Sounds

lk\mr --- My Ringtones

\dload\ --- Information Files

That's all I found so far.

So you need to know how to work the dvd dycripter, the converter, and how to get songs on your phone?

Format your card
Put your mini sd card in your phone while it's turned on. Turn phone off, turn phone back on. Now you can put movies, songs, etc. on your phone.

MP3's

    For limewire
- Click start menu, run, and type C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Shared into run. When folder with all your songs comes up keep it up.
Next open bitpim, plug in usb corb, plug phone into usb cord. I don't know how to work bitpim or how it looks, so get to where the 5 folders are. The 5 folders should be my mp3, my mp3 playlist, my pix, my flix, my sounds.
Open up my mp3 folder. Now you can drag songs from the limewire f...
