Wireless Sync SUCKS for this phone

😕 I just got my 9800. Wireless SYNC checks for new email ONCE an hour at the very least. You can set it to check for longer intervals. For instance, once/12 hours or once/24 hours.

Most people in business can not afford to check email only once and hour. This does not work. It was apparently designed for more the social user and a younger demographic.

Wow, that totally stinks. I'm in the same boat as you, and need to check my e-mails much more frequently than once an hour. Hmmm. I just may skip this phone after all.

Yes you can do a manual sync. I agree that their should be an option for less than 1 hour but I wouldn't go so far as to say that Wireless Sync Sucks for this phone. It seems to me that this could be an easy change for VZW/LG to implement so maybe we will see it in a newer software revision.

This phone is definitely more for consumer use than business use. If you are a business user look at a blackberry, I love mine, or a treo or a one of the windows based devises.

I can see your point. I've had the Blackberry and I also have the i730 and I also use the 9800 wireless sync.

I'll tell ya, this "once per hour" may not be a bad thing. I've read some time management books (and believe me I need it) and once of the many things they refer to is to "schedule" your email reading time - like to read and response once per hour or 3 per day. Impossible and ridiculous for some (including me), but when I tried it, it was okay - for the most part. If they REALLY needed a response, they know they can call me.

People call the BB a "crackberry" because of the instant email messages one gets... Ask any spouse that doesn't have a BB and ask them if they appreciate their spouse beeping and tapping all the time....
