What this phone needs is wireless broadband
Aside from the i830's lack of a camera and its use of a superseded Windows operating system, this phone urgently needs wireless 3G capability in EVDO and UMTS and or EDGE flavors in order to make it competitive. Until then, I will wait for the next version.

OK. My bad. It does have EV DO wireless broadband for use on CDMA networks. But it doesn't have wireless broadband for use on GSM networks. It just has GPRS, which is slow. In fact, it is slower than EDGE, which is a lot slower for data than EV DO.

But most of your usage should be on your home network anyway (EV-DO)... if your roaming that much... and you need the speed, you should consider another carrier.
