Ringer ID for text messages?
I have my SLVR set up to play custom ringer id's for different categories that I have my address book split up into. However, when I receieve text messages, it plays the same id, which is kind of awkward to have a 30 second song play for a text message. Is there any way to prevent this?

I came accross that same issue today. The people at hofo have told me that this is how razr's are also. It is kind of annoying to me but i guess i will get used to it

Take off the custom ringer for your text messaging - problem resolved. Use a built in tone that the phone comes with. 😎

I think you missed the point! Re-read the question and see why your answer doesn't make sense. The problem is that the Category/Contact ringer ID overrides the sound settings, not only for calls, but for text messages as well. If you take off the custom ringer ID, then you have the same ring tone for all your callers (which sucks!!!)
BTW, I have the same problem with my PEBL. When I called Moto, they said that the phone is set up that way, and there is nothing you can do. Which really pissed me off! It's rather annoying, cause you are expecting a call and you pick up the phone and say "hello" without looking and there is no-one there.
As a matter of fact this is my sole complain about the PEBL! I just think it's ridiculous! Their syst...

The real answer is - I could care less if all calls come in on the same ring tone. The answer I gave was a solution to a question within this forum. If you have one ring tone for everything - big deal. It's a FREAKIN' cell phone.
