I want to buy this phone but I want to know first if this phone comes with headphones?

The Cingular version has headphones. I have the unlocked United Kindom version and it did not come with any extras.

Anyone know more about the adapter? is it only an audio out? Will it support a headset with a microphone?

The manual states that regular headphones used with adapter cannot be used for incoming calls but i do not know if that is due to headphones not having a mic or due to the headphones included have something specail that allows them to answer a call

I downloaded the manual, but could not find that info. what page is it on? I'd like to read their wording about it.
I've looked at one of the phones. The included headset is a usb device. It looks like a regular handsfree device it has a microphone hanging from one of the earpieces. It sounds pretty good when listening to music. I didn't try it with a phone call yet. I'll be going back to Cingular store to check it out in more detail. The sales rep told me about the Sony 800i or 810i that they will have before my contract expires and that is looking pretty attractive tome because of the features. But it is quite a bit larger phone so that might end up as my deciding factor if the SLVR can support the headset connection that I need.

it comes with stereo earbuds that allow for incoming calls. the song playing will pause and the phone will ring...it comes with a button on right earpiece to receive and end calls.
it comes with usb headphones, but ALSO comes with a 2.5mm plug adapter for the usb port. it's about 2 inches long and it works great. i love phone calls in stereo 😁
