Eyesris, I'm guessing you are a Cingular dealer? Just out of curiosity, would you know the exact date that Cingular will receive the SLVR's? I know they will be released around the first week of February but I'm attempting to find the exact date so I can purchase this phone the day it comes out.

I have no idea yet...I don't do the ordering for my store right now, but I'm thinking the next few weeks. I know thats pretty general, and like the info everyone else has, but I'll let you know when I know more....which should be soon.

Got the dummy phones in today. If it wasen't a moto I would be kinda impressed. Thin like the v3, and the keypad layout is pretty nice too....But no edge...mp camera...I will wait until a umts or hsdpa version comes out...and when they have reliable softwere. Just my .02

I haven't bought a phone in 3 years and was thinking about getting the SLVR when it came out. What's the problem with it? Are you a Moto-basher... or is there really something "wrong" with it?
I can understand your not liking that it doesn't have Edge (which I wouldn't use) or a Mega Pixel camera (but it does have a camera), but what is your issue with the software? My parents have RAZR's and they seem to get aloong great with their RAZR's and the software. So, what do you find to be a problem? Thanks,

AlfaRomeo, don't get caught up in what a few others are saying. The SLVR is everything you can possibly want plus more. It does have a camera, but it isn't a megapixel camera. It has a video camera as well, along with iTunes, PTT, speakerphone, bluetooth, and a sleek design. It's the perfect phone. You should definatly consider buying it. 😁

Not a moto basher. I actually had a V3 long before they were avaliable. I just had problems with it, and ended up exchanging it about three times. I see too many motos in general come back at my store, so my opinon towards motos has gone down. I carry a 6682 right now and it hands down beats any motorola I have ever had. Don't get me wrong, the slvr is quite nice once you have one in your hand...almost considered it after holding both the slvr and my 6682 in hand....but then remembered that its a moto. Until I see less comming back, I will stay away. Happy trails with it tho, if you do end up picking one up.

I myself am 50/50 on motos. Motorolas generally have the latest technology in them (for gsm) but with that comes the bugs and generaly there are a lot of glitches in them. Not to mention it's not always 100% user friendly. And you say edge is not important now but just wait til you try to log on to the internet without it. But let me warn of this: if you are rough on phones do not get this one.

I have the UK version, what version do you have? When I plug my phone into my computer itunes pops up; however, I can not get itunes to recognize my phone. Any suggestions?

i got it on ebay , it has vodafone logos on the phone and screen saver and special vodafone skin.

no clue towards pricing but I wouldn't be surprised if the phone sold 300 without a contract for cingular. I actually would be expecting more along the 350-399 price range but who knows.

Generic moto mp3 player is much better than having a stupid 100 song cap with itunes. Itunes sucks! 😁

On another note, you say it will probably cost $199 when it is released? That sounds about right, and sounds reasonable. I see you work in a Cingular store and I know sometimes at the Verizon store I work at we get the rebate pads in early, so do you know if there will be a rebate on this phone??

I don't think that there will be a rebate on it...unless they have a specific rebate for the phone itself. My current rebate goes thru 2-11, so who knows after that

Only GPRS due to some issues Moto was having with EDGE not working properly on their high end phones. To make up for that they are going to include the iTunes software on the phone.

It has the same 100-song limit on the I-tunes. They didn't learn the first time.
