If you haven't notice, it going to be like to "v600". It's going to go for T-Mobile, Cingular, and any other GSM carrier that wants it.

I doubt it will be for T Mobile because it includes the 800/850 band. It doesn't state there being one for Cingular and on for T-Mobile. With the V600, there was a 900/1800/1900 one and a seperate one for Cingular which replaced the 900 band with 850. Considering this one has them all, it'll more than likely be only on Cingular, the simple fact being it has all the bands in one. And we all know T-Mobile has no use for the 850 band. But then again, all in all, you never know. They may make a seperate one for T-Mobile. Hopefully, for all you T-Mobilians they do! 🙂

Not, true! The V600 as well as the new V635 are Quad-Band phones. Cingular decided to leave the 850 band on it, since the use that one. T-Mobile decided to "Disable the 850 band since they don't use it". All in all, the phone is capable of being carried by T-Mobile and Cingular. The 900 band on the phones has nothing to do with T-Mobile USA since the United States doesn't care about 900 or the 1800 band. The main US bands are 850 and 1900. Those both are U.S. frequencies! There is 75% chance that T-Mobile will carry the V635 once they officially launch EDGE, since the phone itself has EDGE. Even if Cingular gets the phone first, it can still be unlocked to work on T-Mobile.

I'm not saying it can't be on T-Mobile, but just from the specs it seems like it's going to be on Cingular.

Yes, this phone is quad-band, but so have most other Moto's that Cingular has offered. Also, most Cingular phones come unlocked.

If this phone is going to be on T-Mobile, it will probably be only available in those very few markets which it has already launched EDGE in. And then maybe, sometime in the not so near future when T-Mobile expands it's EDGE across the entire nation this phone will be available. But for all we know, by that time there could be something better than the V635.

I think it will be exclusive to T-Mobile, since the Cnet editors at the CES 2005 show said:

"The prospects: The Motorola V635 promises to be a solid cell phone with an attractive mix of design and features. Its real test, however, will depend on whether the data speeds will perform as promised. If the eventual carrier can't support an EDGE network adequately, the V635 could wind up as a pretty but not-so-useful cell phone."

Like I said, if it'll be avalable on T-Mobile it'll more than liklely be available in those markets which T-Mobile has already rolled out EDGE in. Which I believe there is only about 3, but I can't exactly sure on that number.

Marketting a phone with EDGE to people who can't make any use of it would be just plain dumb. Like if Cingular started marketting UMTS phones across the whole nation, but nobody can use UMTS. I'd have to call Cingular equally as dumb.

Actually before AT&T wireless offered EDGE they offered the Nokia 6200. It has been done and isn't a bad decision because they can get you as a customer if they offer the phone you want, even if one of the features is temporarily unavailable or waiting release.

Okay, but that was AT&T, not T-Mobile. Now if it were T-Mobile, I'd agree and say that yes, the V635 has a batter chance of being on T-Mobile since they would have done that before.
