I am starting to get really upset with Verizon!!!

You pay extra money to get exceptional cellular service. With that comes jealousy from every other providers phones. Why can't Verizon put their brain into effect? Most Verizon customers have money. I don't think that putting a phone out that costs a couple hundred extra dollars but has the megapixel camera built-in would shun away thousands of customers. After all, the people who are shopping for an i730 are obviously not money conscious. For that matter, does anyone have any idea what this almost perfect phone is going to cost? 😡 😡

Actually its nice to see a high end phone without a camera. With more and more buisnesses banning camera phones it is great to see that you can get an awesome high-end phone without a camera.

'Sides if they have money to burn as you are suggesting, then they'd have their own 5+ MP camera anyway and wouldn't need one on their phone.

Yeah, but a person who buys a phone like this likes toyz. Missing a bell or a whistle on a device can be traumatizing for us.

Actually, for me, this phone is perfect. It has Wifi for when I'm in range of one, Ev-DO when I'm outside of that range (I live in Orlando, FL, we have Ev-DO here..) It has a slide down qwerty keyboard, Bluetooth, SD/MMC (which is great because my digi cam uses the same) and a 520 mhz processor for great performance. Push down email, on the fly high speed access, pocket PC.. everything i want.

I assume your point is a dig that this phone doesn't have a camera, right? If so, look at it another way. This phone is ideal for business customers, ri...

I guess you're right. I'm looking at it from the student who buys things he can't afford point of view. Does anyone know how much it will cost?

I'd be willing to bet that samsung will release a camera version of the phone too. Take the UTStarcom XV6600 for example. You have two phones. One with a camera, one without, and they are both the same price.

That will be the plan I am sure. Give it 2 months after the launch of the camera-less one, just like the XV6600.

Patience is a virtue!

Actually it looks like Samsung already designed it with a camera so it will be likely that both versions will be available right away...

the xv660 was designed for a camera too but again like mentioned before this phone is really intened for business customers hence why it will be released to us first. Camera phones just aren't allowed anymore in alot of businesses...... you know the whole taking pics up a ladies skirt with a camera phone thing is a real pain in the ass for legal and HR

the camera less version launches first usually due to the fact that large business and government agencies don't want cameras in sensitive areas. Further more, the camera version usually doesn't cost a penny more so there is no need to fuss about price differece

I am sure by now everyone else has clued you in. . . first of all the phone is most certainly not almost perfect . . . the processor is at least a year behind the cutting edge. Secondly, its running the PPC operating system (daily soft resets are the norm for heavey users). And finally, expect Verizon (my carrier as well) to gut this phone of any usability features that don't center around "Get it Now" or are on their network. It is however nice to see plenty of optimistic people out there willing to give Verizon and Samsung the benefit of the doubt. I hope that one day you all prove me wrong. But for now I will stick with Verizon's and Samsung's track record in delivering real useful technology without a lot of hassle and extra fees.

PPC operating system on verizon doesn't have "get it now" so that means it won't be "gutted." It will have OBEX too. DUN is disabled though, but, as others have said, one could take advantage of this (hook up to laptop etc... for internet when EVDO is much less for phone plan). I actually think this will probably be a good phone..... I apologize for being optimistic.

Gee I wonder who the treo lover in the room is. If you want to talk about rests just take a look at the treo 650 on sprint and cingular. I had the sprint treo for about a month and after who knows how many hard rests I sold it. It was the biggest pos I have had to date. My xv6600 on vzw has had little to know problems and I am a heavy user...... so go cry your river elsewhere 😢
