Has anyone tried the LG HBM 500 BT Headset? I see it's available from Best Buy.

Yeah I have-jsut as bad as all the rest. Don't waste your money on any BT headset for this phone. You can hear great, and the people you talk to can only hear echo and static. It's the phone.

While it does seem to be the case that BT headsets that work well with this phone are mostly nonexistent, I'm using the Logitech Mobile Traveler.

My calls range from sounding good to bad, and sometimes callers say that I sound really good, and sometimes really bad. So it's hit or miss really, but it does get the job done.

My other complaint is that the voice recognition (which isn't spectacular in the 8100 to begin with) usually doesn't understand the first command, but once it prompts again it gets everything as good (or not as good) as without the headset. Oh and one more annoyance: When first turned on, the volume is all the way up and I have to knock the rocker down a few times when I should be simply entering a voice command.

Been there tried that one and was not impressed. Couldn't use it outside for all the wind noise it routed from the mouthpiece to my earpiece. Oddly, calls couldn't hear it but the crackling wind noise made it impossible for me to just walk around a parking lot with the wind I kicked up at 1mph. Weird. I'm still looking for a place to check out the Plantronics full DSP solution... the 645 I think it is. Hopefully that'll fix the issues.

As far as everything else goes, on virtually all (like 85-90%) of the 10 headsets I've tried (looking for one that beats my hard wired one) they all work nearly perfectly on voice recognition and such. So that's not my issue at least...

isn't it the 300 I have never seen the 500. Anyways I use the hbm300 and its the only one I have found that even remotely works with the 8100. I still ocasionally get the other person complaining about echo but its not near as bad as other ones I have tried.

Funny. I use the BlueTrek G2. Clear all-around but loses connection to phone since v04 update.
