Erased from all settings?

Sorry if this has already been answered but i was wondering if I had all my pictures and ringtones on my memory card, then remove my memory card...will the pix and tones be removed from all my settings?..it makes sense...but is there any way to connect to the memory card using a USB data cable so i would not have to remove the card?

Yes, anything you have set for settings that are the memory card only will be gone once you take the card out. You can, however, move your pics from the card to the phone so they will still be there when the card is removed.
