Yea I had my Moto 815 since yesterday and liked some features on it, but was really waiting for the 8100. After tons of calls and persistance, I finally found a store near me that was selling it today even though official launch is Friday (I posted a thread earlier today). Just got home from the store and am charging it now.

IT wasn't PULLED!!! There was a problem with VCAST, it will be available again tomorrow. It can happen with any phone, they just wanted to make sure it was corrected before they sold/shipped mass quantities!

No problem with my E815. Just not impressed with it EXCEPT for the reception -- which is excellent compared to my old LG 4400.
Vibrate ring not as good as the LG.
VCast is hype.
GetItNow is ForgetItNow.
Verizon's web connect site has old news on weekends.

I just want to be able to get my PIX off without emailing them. Have to figure that one out yet.

With BOTH the 8100 and the E815 it makes you wonder why any phone company would pack so many great features into phone just so some giant greedy wireless phone conglomerate (Verizon) can disable them so they can nickel and dime us to death.

We want advanced functionality and they want us to pay for everything we do on it and anything that they can't charge us for be damned. Idiots. ...

Neither the 8100 or the E815 rule anything. They are just phones.

Right on.

LG's are way cooler to play with, but their reception SUCKS. The Moto's have nice reception, but look like sh*t.

I'll be getting one or the other later this summer. I'll just have to see which one people call in to cust serv about less and choose that one. My bet is the Moto. No matter how cool a phone is, people still want good reception (shocking, I know) and LG just doesn't know how to provide it.

I've had my LG6000 for 2 years and the reception is great. Never, repeat, NEVER, had a dropped call. When I first purchased it, I chose it over many others due to its superior sound. Furthermore, I like Korean food better than Chinese food!! Try Korean "kimchi" sometime.. it's great with rice!! I'll stick with Korean-made LG!! You can have Chinese-made Moto!

The strategy reminds me of the Apple computer policy of not sharing code so they shot themselves in the foot for a long time.

I understand why VZW is doing it. From one perspective it makes snese since this area is the largest profit margin and other areas of profit are severly restrained.

So, has anyone tested whether the Bluetooth DUN profile works on Verizon's network? I'm only interested in Q2N, but please post results for 1xRTT / EVDO as well.
