hmmm I see a pattern here:
8100 available (to some) in West and Midwest; E815 not available online in those areas.
8100 not available (to anyone) in East or Northeast; E815 still available online.
Maybe this is some sort of convoluted marketing scheme by Verizon 😡

No pattern here in L.A. The E815 is off the VZ site but I still can't get the 8100. I've made several calls to 611, telesales and stores and they all say the 15th. One store here in L.A. said they do have shipments in the store, but cannot sell till 15th.

I went to my local VZW Store here in Columbus Ohio and they told me the 15th is still the tenative date for the 8100 but you were able to buy the E815 in the store but i noticed on VZW.com the E815 is missing as well. Probably just a glitch on the site that VZW needs to fix

"There is NO RECALL. Just got off the phone with VZW and I was concerned reading all this info. (I got my E815 last Tuesday, and don't have many days left for my 15). They said there was a technical problem with VCAST and they put a temporary hold on orders because they didn't want to release large quantities of the phones until it was fixed, which it should be by tomorrow. I work in a verizon store in Mass. We have the mot e815 in the store. There was a technical issue with the VCast software on some of te phones. All stores should be receiving a software update sometime this week. If you look at the UPC on the box find the transceiver number if it ends in G then you will need to get the software upgrade when it comes out. If the number ends in a F then you are all set. As far as the LG8100 my store has already received a shipment of them in. As far as we know they are launching on Friday the 15th.

It the past, when phones were not available for sale, the website simply said "Out of Stock," so that the offering itself was not actually removed. If VZ is offering the E815, it should be on the website, with some note that it is not currently available!!! It should not have been removed NATIONWIDE!!! (IMHO) 😁
