Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood
Verizon wants me to switch to a VX8300
I've had so many problems with this E815 that Verizon wants to switch me to an LG VX8300. What do you guys think? I really like all the features of the E815, but am unfamiliar with LG's software. 😕

My roommate just got the vx8300 like 3 days ago. I really like his phone. The camera quality is very clear and the speakerphone speaker is loud.
The phone comes stock only able to play WMAs, but you can get into the programming menu and enable mp3s. (Menu->Zero->four Zeros for password->last option on menu)
Bluetooth works just fine, no OBEX. I was able to xfer files to his phone via bluetooth using the Bluetooth Serial Port and BitPim. Very very slow ~3k/sec but it works.
The thing I like the most about his phone is that it is new and it doesn't have the (lack of better work) gay red interface that verizon has been putting on most of their phones. In fact, the interface is a lot nicer than the e815's.

I'm on my 3rd e815 in 7 weeks, i hate this phone!! Verizon says i can't change to a different phone until i have 3 consecutive problems with this one, what a joke. I want to switch to the LG 8300 too, never had any problems with my old LG. The charging port on the 815 sucks, it never makes a good connection and when you try and use a car charger forget it. Every time you hit a bump it goes in and out of connection. Phone is always freezing up and loosing connection from my bluetooth. I've had a cell since '87 and this is by far the worst phone i've ever owned. I'm about to just pay for th LG before i smash this one....

My first e815 was the best phone that I have ever had, then I was getting charge port problems, I received one exactly a week ago and it's even worse, charge port problems (worse than the first phone), dropped calls, not receiving calls and no service where I have perfect service usually, trouble synching with bluetooth. Verizon is sending me another e815 as I have gone from the best to the worse phone I have ever had with that secong e815. If I have problems with my 3rd one, I'm going to want the LG, how did you come about with them wanting to switch you, because if 3 times is not the charm then I want the LG.
