Bad - Bad - Bad

What a joke. Bought an e815. What a piece of junk. Maybe the reception is better but the rest of the phone sucks. Sat in parking lot for 45 min playing with phone. The speakerphone can hardly be heard, even with windows shut. Vibrate feature - about 2 sec and can hardly feel it. Voice Dial - kept dialing wrong number on digit and kept sending to text. If I closed flip, opened it again and pressed voice, it would dial a previously spoken number without even asking. Name dial did not work either. I never left the parking lot and returned it. Got the same results with speakerphone on or off. That was my experience with it. Wouldn't take it if VZW gave it to me for free and paid my contract. 🤣 🤣 🤣

No kidding that guy was out just to find things wrong with the phone i never had those problems with the phone. One you have to train your voice to the phone he probably didn't know that. If you adjust the volumes correctly your speaker phone will work just phone you might get an echo. This is a brand new phone that was just released so it might have a defect thats why they give you 15 days not 60 minutes. If you would of given the phone a chance you might of liked like everyone else. Your loss!

MOTOROLA HAS THE WORST CHARGING PORT EVER IT IS TOO SENSITIVE AND USALLY DOES NOT CHARGE PROPERLY AFTER 6 OR 7 MONTHS. LG IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO.

Hey if you bought this phone you would realize the switched chargers on this phone which has made a difference so know your facts before you speak. We know Motorola charging ports aren't the best but whose are? LG don't make the greatest either they give you a charging port where you have to take off the leather case and put the phone in the port to charge it how inconvenient is that? So if you wanna go round and round about each phone companies good and bad we can do that because no cell phone company makes perfect phones or chargers. So I'm sick and tired of this bashing. This forum is the E815 forum not the LG forum if you don't have anything good to say don't say it at all because a Motorola phone will out run a LG phone any day han...

lg doesn't use the base style charger on any of their new phones. this means you don't have to take the phone out of the case to charge. and what are you talking about when you say moto switched chargers on this phone? same dumb charger moto has been using for quite some time. not to bash moto but think about this. they release their first ever vcast phone, and they forget to put vcast software on half the units. that's got high quality written all over it.

Ok i guess we will go around about this. LG gives the port chargers in the box with the phone when you buy the phone when they should give you a regular wall charger. Secondly if you haven't owned or seen this phone this is a different charger different model and everything Motorola is using for this phone and has been quite good for this phone no problems yet. At least they aren't greedy and give you a stupid port charger that is so inconvenient so you will end up having to buy a normal charger. So maybe a few phones didn't come with the V-Cast software that could be related to a few things but the thing is they are coming out with the software quick to fix that problem. If people don't want to wait they can return the phone but what i...

what do you mean by a "port charger" vs a "regular wall charger?" verizon labels chargers as "travel" and "desktop" and i'm just trying to figure out what you're referring to. and what do you mean when you say it's a different charger from other Motorola's? i have seen this phone in person and there's no difference that i can tell. go buy a moto charger and it will list right on it that it's compatible with everything from the 815 and 710 all the way back to the v60's. and if it were a new charger i should certainly hope we wouldn't be seeing problems in the first two weeks the phone is out.

Bitter? No? I am sick of waiting for the 8100 and really made up my mind for this phone. The menu is different and easier than the 710. I was stating simple facts of general use. I have an 6000 and can only compare it to that. My daughter has the 6100, which I almost bought, and it has bad reception and a horrible speakerphone. Unless I got a bad phone, that was my experience. From what I have read here, it seemed a lot have been returned. What I was really afraid of was the 'echo' but never got that.

There are two areas where the Motorola E815 absolutely crushes the LG VX8100

1. Speaker Independent Voice Recognition--The E815 has it, LG VX8100 doesn't. I'm actually quite surprised that LG didn't include this feature with the VX 8100. It seems almost archaic to me that you should have to go in and manually record all of your contacts names in order to use the voice dialing feature. Luckily, with the E815, you don't have to do that; it's set up with the speaker independent voice recognition software that automatically recognizes all your contacts. Awesome.

2. Bluetooth Connectivity--While a lot has been made on these boards about Verizon "crippling" Bluetooth functionality on all their Bluetooth phones, one thing is for certain. ...

I would strongly disagree with everything you say here. I have this phone and have had just the opposite experience. If you had a bad phone, exchange it for another. If this phone can recogize a huge redneck drawl like mine, it can handle anything....

I agree with a few of your points.

I keep my phone on Vibe mode 90% of the time (hate being rude in public with loud ringing cell phone). I can hardly feel this phone vibrate! It's a minor detail but happens to be very important to me. Accessing features involves extra key strokes than my old LG. I guess there are ways to short cut some of this but why should i have to? Speakerphone is disappointingly low. You must be in total silence to hear it clearly.

Reception, battery life and styling seem to be the best features (other then the peripheral stuff). Audio quality not in speaker mode is also good.

Still, I'll be returning this for the new LG. I'd give it a 7 out of 10.
