Can You Get Full OBEX on this phone

I just looked at the phone and it seems awesome. Sleek and lightweight. I would buy it if I could use full BT. Its just BS that VZW crippled the phone. Can anyone tell me whether a novice (like me) can hack around the BT limitations?

Trust me, don't invest another minute in researching ways to get OBEX on this phone. It can't be done unless you are a electronics and programming expert and even then you'll probably need special info that you won't have access to unless you know Mr. Verizon.

If you want a Bluetooth phone with OBEX, you need to go to another carrier.

Not only CAN it be done, it IS being done and NOT just by electronics and programming experts.

Check out the information on Howard Forums.

Awesome info, thanks for having it all there, and in a nice consolidated place, too. Just wanted to add this post from elsewhere in the forum, to have it all in one place. A Shame you can't make this a sticky or something...

DUN, dial-up networking, can be enabled very easily on the e815...

just dial ##DIALUP (##342587) into your phone rather quickly, almost as if you were making a call.

when you type in the last number, a screen pops up saying dial-up networking enabled.

do disable DUN, simply rinse and repeat

its as easy as that folks, it almost seems to good to be true.

fyi this was taken from superdave on ho-fo. im only giving credit where credit is due.

Can you send .jpg files or any image files and save them? How do you do it exactly?
