Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood
Bad Video quality
Not to be a downer but I have been wanting to post this for a while. I have the E815 and it is a Engineering model. BUild is the same only thing different from Production models is my OBEX is unlocked. One thing that I still hate about this phone which I hated on my V710 is that the Video capture on this still sucks way bad. Today my wife took a video with her VX7000 and I took the same with the E815 and the VX7000 blew it away by 1 million percent! No Joke! The e815 takes better photos than the VX7000 but not better videos.

Would that mean that the VX8100 will take better photos than the E815?

But it's a PHONE...not a camera or video machine. I bet the reception is a lot better than the VX7000.

Yes it may be a phone but this phone is a EV-DO phone which is suppose to have high quality resolution for the to support V-CAST and if that quality is not there this wont be a good phone to buy for the V-CAST service itself.

the vcast quality is very good. the bad video quality eckemner is talking about is recording video through the phone camera.

Thats what i thought eckemner meant but I'm glad there is clarification to it because i think it had people worried. I thought that he meant it was just bad at taking videos but wasn't sure but than i figured that Verizon wouldn't release a V-Cast phone that wasn't up to pace with their other V-Cast phones because you have to have high quality and resolution screens for those phones for the V-Cast service its like a miniature TV I have been able to see the service before and watch a full length music before and was blown away by the quality.

Sorry, I know this is off topic đ , but, Jetplanesky I was hoping you can tell me if MOTO changed the data cable port? Or... still using the same old crappie port? Cause i really hate it! Long story short I had to Express Exhg my phone several time cause it wouldn't charge! âšī¸

I can tell you from what everyone else had said its the same ole crappy port! Its virtually the only downfall of a Motorola phone its really bad on the Motorola Global Phone A840 try having your phone fry on you a few times it a pretty crappy situation.

Can't tell you about the data cable port. I'm just lurking here because I'm considering the E815.
