doubtful anytime soon since the 710 was just released and this is an updated for to be used to with verizon and EVDO. And just trust me, US Cellular is not even close to rolling out high speed data. They just got done rolling Easy Edge out to all markets last year, so don't hold your breath on this one.

US Cell sucks asscracks. Verizon gets 4 months of exclusive sales for any moto phone. If you have USCC just switch to a real national carrier.

I still love Verizon but I switched to USCC. Its just as good as Verizon, especially with the Chicago-only national plans. Saving big $$ and giving up little.

And who cares about Verizon getting exclusives? By the time USCC gets the phone, most if not all of the kinks are worked out.

What kinks? When a company releases a phone, they dont fix anything after release, unless its a whole new version. When uscc gets the v710 it is exactly the same as the v710 that verizon sells, just a diffent box and logo. As far as upgrades, it is up to the carrier to provide software upgrades (like verizons *22😎.

Except that the V710 USCC offers has full Bluetooth functionality.

the v710 does not have obex. not for any carrier. so when you say uscc has full bluetooth, you are wrong.

Okay, as you say. But when I say my friends V710 has OBEX, I am not wrong.

But if you insist it doesnt, then I suppose it doesnt. I guess it must be something else when he transfers files between his phone and computer.

the v710 was not made or programed with obex. people have tried to hack the phone to get obex, but none were successful because the obex profile was never built into the phone. you can transfer photos, mp3s etc. with sd 1.02 firmware and mpt 3 or later. but that does not mean that the phone has obex. so you are wrong. i don't think you know anything about these phones, the v710 or the e815. if you have played with the e815 then tell me what the s/w version is. if you haven't then stop talking.

Personally I don't care if it has OBEX or not. It probably doesnt. But that doesnt defeat the fact that my friend transfers files back and forth from his phone to his computer.

You can think as you'd like, I'm really not going to sit here and try and convince you of anything, what you think or not doesn't really concern me any. And my apologies for not checking the s/w version, and if I did, my apologies for not writing it down incase someone asked me one day, like you. Seeing as I don't have the phone anymore, I couldn't tell ya. And even if I still had the phone, it wouldn't power back up anymore.

But anyways, let's just go with what you say, I'll pretend like I've never touched the phone just for you, to make you happy 🙂 Ho...

It's the same v710 on the outside but the software is different is several aspects. Plus, there are issues that do arise after a phone is launched. But hey, you seem to know the answer. Like when Verizon had 3-4 software updates for the v60 Series phones???

Also, *228 does not update the software -- it programs a phone. It activates a phone for service and puts the prope...

Considering my friend has and does sent files from his phone to his computer and vice versa, I'm pretty convinced that it does, having seen it with my own eyes. I didn't believe him either, but he showed me.

I never said that all upgrades are done over *228, and the hardware is the same, software can be upgraded over and over numerous times, but the product is still the same. When uscc ships a phone later, it may have updated software, but people with the older phones can still get the upgrades thus bringing their phone on par with the brand new ones. As far as software differnces, yeah, all carriers are going to have slight differences in the software, but the basic functions, and hardware of the phones will remain the same. For example, Verizon may offer higher download speeds than USCC, but the chip that controlls it all is the same. Minus the sofware and Carrier, its still the same phone.

Gee, I thought I made it clear the product is the same, i.e., the hardware -- and nothing can change that.

As for software updates, as long as its available for your carrier, then you can get it. But the software is customized for each carrier. Case in point, there are v810 phones for both Verizon and USCC. Verizon chose at the last minute not to carry it even though the phones were already made for them. I know, I have two Verizon v810s. When USCC debuted the v810, many would buy it from Motorola with the USCC software and activate on Verizon. The phone works fine on VZW but since the software is configured to work on USCC, Verizon users did not have access or the full-feature set found on the VZW v810.

Also, Sprint already does OTA s...
