Ok great. I have heard a lot of horror stories on the stability of these things which I why I got a blackberry. I'm twmpted by the new 650 though. Hope the OS bugs are worked out.

blackberry was too darned clunky for me, the idea of carrying around that beast after having a kyocera 6035 really made no sense.

so far the treo is more stable than the kyocera, but it also has a lot to do with what apps you put in. i hear waba, and sometimes booster are unstable on it, so i avoided those apps.

I had purchased a Treo 600 recently and it was buggy and that was some piercing sound in the background behind static whenever I used the phone to make a call. My emails would come through intermittently and clients would receive the emails several hours after I had replied. I ended up getting the Blackberry 7290. I know that many complain about the size, but it really isn't bad. It gets the job done. All in all, you can do more with the Treo, that is if it works as it should. My neighbors office bought a Treo and Blackberry and used them both to see which they would buy for the employees and they ended buying the Blackberry. Maybe, I just got one of the buggy ones. I do know a few people whose Treo is great for them.

Truth be told, the CDMA Verizon version works much better and has newer internals (including camera) than the GSM version I bought from Palm directly.

The Blackberry I find, draws many people on it looking more unique than the Treo, it looks gadgety and I have used both, I'd hated to pull it out and be labelled as a dork right away, but in some cases it may be the better tool than most. As for emails arriving late, I use my own mail server, things go through right away, so I don't know what your lag is/was.

To each his own, I do have to say I am not as pleased as I'd hoped to be. Maybe the 650 is an upgrade I need to make.

Once the 650 arrives, I'm going to give it a try. I'm impressed that the Blackberry 7290 is smaller and bluetooth unlike the Blackberry that I had previously with Nextel. Personally, I liked the Treo better, but I was expecting a lot more from the Treo for some reason or another. I used the Cingular mail server to get my work emails. I had been recently told that using something like Office Online, etc. works better.

please wait for the 650. the reliability issues with the treo 600s are appauling. im gonna wait on getting the 7290 blackberry to see if the treo 650 has improved. they are using a different manufacturer than handspring this time. currently my 7290 BB is working great.

I LOVE my treo 600, not a single problem here. Of course you cant buy this thing for the camera ;) Im cant wait to get a 650. Bluetooth is enough for me to justify a new one 🙂

is it possible to add a jabra attachment and make the 600 Bluetooth enabled ? Wouldn't that kind of make it a 650? Please advise-thanks

I use a Jabra BT200 for non-bluetooth phones. Works great for a headset. I don't believe it would give you Bluetooth sync and such, but works well for the Treo 600.
