I bought a 5600 the day it came out and now it already pulled from stores. Does anyone have any information on this. The rumor I have heard is that the FCC made the limit on the amount of radiation a phone could emit smaller and since the 5600 was at the old limit it is now technically CALLED THE TUMOR PHONE, TUMOR PHONE!!!!!!!!!!! If anyone can confirm this that would be awesome

If you have any affiliation with a competitor to Sanyo or Sprint you can be held liable for these kinds of statements and sued for your entire net worth. I would be very careful if I were you. Don't think people can't find you just cause you post under an alias.

Second, the radiation values are public domain and for this phone are actually quite low.

I have been a sprint customer for over three years and have owned three different sanyo phone over that span. What I wanted to know what is anyone can confirm the RUMOR I heard. Apparently the report on the recall was posted on sanyo's website for one day.

Secondly pmorcos, maybe you could explain why the phone is no longer sold in any major retailer after only being on the market for two months.

The phone has been extremely popular and difficult to maintain stock. As far as getting pulled early... have you been following how fast new phones are coming out?
My god...the phone is perfect. Recall it for what!? Using it as a modem?
geez. I can say that it's by far the best phone I've ever had hands down.

The only thing I would like it to do better is utilize the beautiful 320x240 screen with a higher-powered browser. I find it sucks to view anything other than sprint-supplied web content, and even that doesn't utilize the capabilities well.

My Best Buy store near me has them so does the Sprint store by my house! What retailers are you speaking of? I also understand that Compusa has them as well! You may want to check around before making false statements!

Sprint: Sanyo 9000: Evolution In Data, Or Yawn-In-Motion?

Details of the Sanyo 9000, in addition to some very blurry pictures have begun to leak onto the web. The Sanyo 9000 will build on the MM-5600 with an improved camera, EV-DO, and other minor improvements such as Voice SMS.

Sprint expects this device to be a mid-range EV-DO device, in-between the likes of the A920 and A940, and should be available around the launch of EV-DO as an initial/near-launch device. So, it's up to the savvy consumer to decide, is the Sanyo 9000 a necessary evolution of the Sanyo 5000 series, or, will it be minor enough to begin to get derogatory names such as Sanyo 5601?
