ok i have always had the sanyo camera phone since the 5300 came out, and i just had the mm-7400 but it was kinda heavy and bulky i felt. I went into cingular and saw the samsung e317 and how small it was and signed up (i have quite a few friends with cingluar compared to sprint), but now that i see this phone i know im keepin the sprint and canceling cingular (they give u 30 days)

This phone isn't that big of a deal. GSM phones in general are much better than CDMA phones. If a phone offering is your reason for switching carriers, stick with Cingular.

Well not really, sanyo phones are far better and more reliable then any phone cingular could ever offer. I would think thats why they have been ranked 1st 2 of 3 years by consumers. Cingular has one megapixel phone...a nokia 7610..and its ugly. It has bluethooth and thats it. the sanyo has an mp3 player.and walkie talkie / speaker phone. So where are the great phones cingular has ? None matched up for what is offerd in the sanyo..and the sanyo phone is going to last a lot longer then a nokia.

Look beyond what's available in America, and look at what will be offered in America.

My point was, you can use virtually any GSM phone from anywhere in the world on Cingular's network.

No it wasnt. He has sprint , went to cingular...wants to go back over the phone..not if he can use it all over the world...which he cant, because the samsung he got is a duel band phone..so that never crossed his mind, nor does he care if anyone can come over to the US and use the cingular service. The sanyo is better then what cingular has..thats the point. thats why he wants to go back.

No. The Sanyo is not better than what is available to use on the Cingular network. It has nothing to do with where one uses the phone.

GSM phones are better than CDMA phones in general.

Well then you dont read JD power and all the other reviews. Sanyo is a the highest ranked cell phone maker in the USA. Factor that into the options the phone has over the cingular options and u come out to have a better phone. How is that hard to understand. better quality + more options = better . If not then I must be living on the moon.

I have had all of the major wireless providers and stay in touch with all of the phones that they offer since I am in the wireless industry as a salesman. Major points have already been made: Cingular does not have a phone that can come anywhere close to the Sanyo 5600 for the EVERYDAY user. More than 95% of the population in the US that uses their cell phones do not consider their cell phone when travelling overseas, if at all they are travelling. Sanyo has always been the leader in cell phone quality, and continues to lead the pack with this phone.

yeah man cingular isnt that good as sprint and sanyo phones are better, and in a few months with the help of the sprint nextel merge, sprint users will be able to use their sanyo phone in other countries where nextel has towers like mexico, peru, argentina etc. so it is going to be the best carrier ever bro. I recommend you go back to sprint and never switch back not even with verizon

I agree with u on the fact that sanyo's are really good and now that they have a megapixel camera i would love to get one, i jus hope it takes good picks for all the megapixel phones so far have been duds, but as far as cingular they have the best overseas network now that they merged with at&t and can roam all ova the world where sanyos really only work real good in asia since there the only ones that really support CDMA, but as far as cingular not havin any real good phones, i agree, but when they release the Sony Ericsson S710a it will be the best phone out so far even better then the sanyo although in a way i would prefer this phone ova the s710a jus cause i love the design and the My buddy thing, closet thing to a NTT Docomo (atleast in...

simple SANYO PHONES ARE WAY BETTER. i don't know anyone that has a sprint phone that wouldn't take a sanyo. cingular phones just suck for a few reasons, GSM ISN'T THAT GREAT to much wind, clouds or trees and bam no signal, 2. cingular doesn't cover there phones batter under warrenty, 3. sanyo customers never want to leave a sanyo because the phone works in places where a samsung wouldn't and the quality is better. if sanyo wasn't so great then why would VERIZON AND CINGULAR OFFER HUGE MONEY TO SANYO TO MAKE THERE PHONES?

Long time sprint user and former employee, I definitely agree, Sanyo's are best Sprint phones. I would give up my Samsung for one. I like this phone and it seems from the specs it will have the same size screen as the Toshiba VM 4050, which has the largest screen of a flip phone by sprint. The Toshiba shows the entire vision home page, but doesn't do Multi Media like this one. I was going to get a Toshiba now I might wait to see this one up close.
