So, I just brought my 7100 home, and if I look at the call list and the address book, it's full of calls and a CRAPLOAD of addresses in my area that are obviously not my own (unless I made a call to the ABC or Diebold lately).

At first, I almost thought I had the wrong SIM card; however, the phone number is the same, so that's not the case.

Though I think I know the answer, should I take it back to them tomorrow and say I want an actually NEW phone. If I'm gonna drop $200 on something, I'd at least like to think it doesn't have a previous history.

Whatta y'think?

I would certainly bring it back. That is unacceptable. Was the box sealed with the T-Mobile logo?
Question: Did your unit have the web browsing and IM icons on the home screen out of the box? Should be a globe and the letters IM.

Thanks.

At the time, I wasn't paying attention... Rest assured, I took it back yesterday and exchanged it. I think I'm gonna buy a Sidekick 2, as well, to see if my reception is any better.

As for those icons, yep, they appear after the device determines you have data capabilities through your provider. T-Mobile says it usually takes 24 hours for them to kick in; however, you can call them to have it done sooner... better yet, you can have the guys who you bought your phone from do it (which is what I did).

Thanks. After I e-mailed you the message I had added the data package and after turning off and on the phone, the icons were there. Thanks for the response.
