VOICEMAIL PROBLEM

I just got my phone from myworldphone and I am using it on the cingular network. I have everything set up fine (gprs, mms, text messaging.. etc) except for voicemail. Every time I get a voicemail, instead of the "New Voicemail" message, I get a text message on my phone with weird characters as the sender. Does anyone know what the problem is and how I can fix it?

try reading the how to fix in this forum. There is a lot to read and if you're the impatient type and try to fix it without reading everything...you can really screw up your phone. It really isn't very hard, just follow the directions exactly.

Join the forum and read all the threads on this repair. I use cingular and have a v620 and was able to successfully complete the mod on mine. Good luck!

I can not answer your problem as to a solution, but on mine, I too have the settings for all the functions working properly, but when I get a voicemail I get the "New Voicemail" notice and can call to retrieve it just fine - it works. What bugs me is that after I hang up my phone rings one time and a message appears saying I have a voicemail. It is always from a sender that makes no sense - and there is not another voicemail.

Anyone have any ideas on this weird happening?
