Another thread.... Has anyone any good suggestions for a good MPEG converter?... I'm using one that will let me save the files as WMA but I'm tired of watching it on Windows Media. I would like to use one that will let me utilize my PocketTv.... Freeware or purchased... Let me know...dl darionlear@hotmail.com

TMPGenc is the best by far
http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html »

As for players, I used to use PocketTV until I discovered BetaPlayer (now called TCPMP)
http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/download »

it doesnt require any registration, has I2700 hardware accel, and supports playlists. (it plays lots of video and audio formats)
It does everything PocketTV does basically.

Just download all of them.. They are updates and plug-ins.... Once you sync your 6600 it will install what it needs.... Trust me, it's worth it... I bought the Pocket TV and it doesn't come anywhere close to this one!.. It's WAY better....

I don't say this kind of thing often, but TCPMP rocks!! Beats the snot out of WMP9 and from what I've seen, it's simply the best media player for the pocket PC. Plays all sorts of formats right out of the box, including MPEG. You might be surprised to find that some files play well enough under TCPMP that they don't need to be converted first!

The one thing that briefly stumped me was figuring out which files to download and install for my XV6600. For other XV6600 owners who might have gotten confused by the plethora of files listed for download, you can either grab tcpmp.smartphone.0.71.exe (or whatever version is current) and install that from your PC and sync, or you can grab tcpmp.arm.cabs.0.71.zip, extract tcpmp.arm_ce3.ca...
