Did VZN cripple your bluetooth on the 710? I heard that carriers are crippling the bluetooth so you can't use it as a modem. I am a sprint user and I am sure.. sprint will cripple it.

Surprisingly they allow the Dial-up-networking profile, but what they don't allow is for phonebook transfer, picture transfer to printers and pcs, video transfer, and other file system transfers.

What I would really like is a flip smartphone, with a qwerty keyboard, windows mobile, and bluetooth, with integrated camera & speakerphone. And changable skins. For CDMA & GSM, Tri-Mode w/ Analog. So I can use it for Verizon.

That is my ideal phone/pda hybrid.

🤣 And I want a compact car w/ a v12, 30 mpg, tons of trunk space, great handling, and stock everything, that rides like a cloud. 🤣 May be possible, but wont happen for a while.

As someone who reads EETimes (Electronic Engineering Times, www.eet.com), I read a lot about the new technologies. There are, in fact, quad-band phones that allow both GSM and CDMA through hardware. However, the phone is programmed to only accept cards of a certain carrier because of the capitalistic nature of U.S. carriers and the FCC.

Flip phones are ideal in that they double surface area when opened. However, the screen is often blurred by finger oils. This is why the Bl...

Lovely, 😁

A fully open OS on a phone, we can all dream right.

Aah, the plight of freedom in america. People would rather have a free phone and be locked into a contract then pay the true value of the phone and be free to take it to any company, and change it the way that they see fit.

I digress 😛

The current buzz seems to be "Sprint-only, no DUN". Same as the Treo 650. Bummer...what a cool phone/PDA hybrid this would have been on Verizon.
