Calling Plan Question

If I get one of these do I have to have a data plan as well as a voice plan in order to send and receive email? What about web access? I really have limited need but would like the capability. Can I sync it with an exchange server? Are there any FAQ's that may make me better informed?

Thanks!

Yes, but where are you getting your email from? If it's Yahoo or Earthlink, as an example, you are good to go with just a data plan. If you want corporate email from an exchange server, are you the IT department? I'm not, so I am SOL, except for Outlook Web Access, which is the whole reason why I bought this phone. So unless you are the Exchange admin, or have the cooperation of the IT department, or unless you get your company to sign up for Xpress mail, no corporate email except for OWA if your company has it. Web access can be had through the Wifi connection, so you don't necessarily need the data plan for that. I don't know of any FAQs, and even what I have said here has been my discovery, I could be wrong, so somebody jump in...

If you get it from Cingular, you can get limited internet access for $20 extra per month, or unlimited access for $40/mo. Everyone seems to say the $20 service is too limited. Right now I am trying out the $40 plan, which is expensive, but it is nice to be able to surf on my phone whenever I want. I will evaluate how much I use/need it and decide if I want to keep shelling out $40 extra. I am pretty sure you can use the phone as a wireless modem for your computer/laptop too, which adds to the potential value.

$40. I work for cingular. Call and request the $19.99 Media Works package. It will save you $20 a month and it gives you Unlimited Internet access. 1500 Text messages and 250 MMS(picture Messages) by far best data plan. (in my opinoion.)
