I was told today at a Cingular store that the wifi card will only work if you have the 39.95 data package, is that true?

😳 Totally false!

Half the point of Wi-Fi for a device like the SX66 is that it bypasses the Cingular network completely - there is no way it has anything to do with any kind of plan you have with Cingular.

ok, here the deal with wifi and cingular GPRS system.

let say your home and you have a wireless network, use your wifi to connect and you can go online from there.....

but lets say you dont have have wifi or your outside or shopping or somewhere in the mountains where your getting cingular signal. the package for the price of 30-40 buck gives you unlimited access to the internet some thousands of text messaging, and medianet access to your account.

would i go with it ? i already had it with my v400 and now with my sx66 i can do even more then before, love showing off to people that i can go to websites without any hassle unlike the blackberry and other non supporting html phones.
