Whatever happened to that December 15th release date that you and Nextel18 were in dispute over? Seems like he called your bullshit pretty well. 🤣

Thanks to Mister Nextel, humanity has been given a bad name yet again!

Seriously. And this is to Mister Nextel, that is of course if he's not too embarassed to come around here anymore. Why would you come on some forum, trying to state some sort of fact, knowing from the start that you are so full of crap that it's pouring out of every pore on your body? Maybe to make your story more believable you could have done some research. FCC approval documents arent top secret or anything lol, they are open to the public to view. Obviously you didnt know that. So what gives? Did you come here thinking you could flatter and fancy people with information you pulled straight from the depths of your ass, having not a single thing to back up your...

Ah hem,

To the pompass and arrogant fools that do nothing but sit around here and act as if they are an authority on anything at all or have any real knowledge of anything relevant to mankind. I was given the December 15th release date from a very credible source that works at Nextel. I was merely sharing what I had been told. Secondly, I don't or didn't come on here to try and act like I'm some god of celluar. You two are pretty stupid to even try and call me out like that. It's a forum, people posted and so I did, so the helll what. You called me a few names and I'm supposed to sit at home and cry about it? They changed the release date by a few weeks, so the hell what? Do something! You idiots sure do get swollen in the chest ...

"I was given the December 15th release date from a very credible source that works at Nextel"
look s like that source isnt credible. if he works at a store he wouldnt know. just face it you have no "connections".

"They changed the release date by a few weeks, so the hell what?"

bahahahahahah

"Do something! You idiots sure do get swollen in the chest over a forum, but like you just said, talk is cheap! "

dont cry please.

LOL!! And not only does he completely pull a date out of the depths of his ass, but he also completely makes up that supposed "FCC approval". What's your excuse for that one Mister Nextel? Did the FCC change their mind as well by a few weeks? Face it man, the i930 isn't coming out for a while, and even if it is to come out, you'll more than likely see available through Southern Linc first, before Nextel. As they are known to make phones available sooner than Nextel. My examples being the i830, the i860, and the newest i265.

Mister Nextel, it's people like you that keep the world laughing. You're not too good for reliable information, but you're great for giving people one helluva good laugh! Thanks! 😁

Well, whoever it was that told him makes that person a moron and it makes Mister Nextel gullible, in turn making him a moron because he came here stating it as a fact, then arguing with you about it, and then he looked like even a bigger moron when December 15th rolled around and i930 offically had something in common with Bin Laden: Nowhere to be found or seen. Not that I couldnt see from the start that'd you'd prove him wrong, that was plain to see the minute he started posting stuff about it.

I get what you're saying about the i930 though and it does make sense. I only figured they'd get it first cause they get everything first, Nextel takes they're sweet time. But furthermore, maybe they may not even come out with the phone. I mea...

Is the QChat supposed to be an equivalant to iDEN push-to-talk? If so, is it as reliable as iDEN, or possibly better?

"Is the QChat supposed to be an equivalant to iDEN push-to-talk? If so, is it as reliable as iDEN, or possibly better?"

qchat was tested in labs and qualcomm reported that the speeds were about 1-2 seconds of latency over the ev-do rev a network. i belive that latency, which isnt that much, would be enhanced and be less due to revisions in the rev. a and software and things that motorola can do to help those speeds be improved. qchat over an ev-do rev a system wont be ready till probably 2007-2008 or so. so nextel/sprint/motorola/qualcomm/lucent/kyocer ra/and whoever else is joining the party will be able to work out the kinks to make it as fast or faster then the nextel's current system.

i think it (over a cdma network) could/would b...

Thanks for the informative information!

Even though I'm not longer with Nextel all this stuff that's going on with them and other carriers as well, still interests me. I switched to Cingular about a month ago because of service problems with Nextel in my area. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing Nextel, they did me very well for the time I was with them, but then the service in my area went downhill and was unsuitable for my needs, so I switched to Cingular which does, so I'm happy.

I have to admit it's pretty crazy around here, someone states that they dont like something and them others assume they're bashing it.

i belive i have many links on the whole qchat thing if you want it just ask and i will post the links on here. if you dont then its ok i will just keep on informing you and the board about the developments and things of that nature.

" have to admit it's pretty crazy around here, someone states that they dont like something and them others assume they're bashing it."

yea many many states dislike nextel, but what is most important is what nextel gets in its quarter numbers. such as churn, arpu, life time revenue per user etc... those numbers that nextel reports per quarter are better then all of the other carriers out there. it is kind of funny that we both say that nextel is hated in some ar...

You don't have to post the links, but if I have any questions I'll be sure to ask.

And yes, I did contact customer service several times. First they told me that my phone is broken, so I sent it in for repairs, they said they found nothing wrong with the phone. I again called, they said my phone is broken, I told them that I already had my phone checked and there wasnt anything wrong with it (by the way, the phone was an i730). Then later they told me they were changing their towers? I didn't really know what that meant and the cust. service rep. wasnt capable of explaing it to me. So I just sort of took it as a lost cause and left Nextel. Maybe one day I'll go back after all is said and done. Only time can tell.

"by the way, the phone was an i730"

AHH, that could be why. 730's have lots of problems.

"Then later they told me they were changing their towers?"

yea, thats not true. they would probably say they are moving freqs and things like that but not moving towers.

You're absolutely right about the network area being the problem. 2 other friends of mine which were also with Nextel were having the same exact problems as I was. I suppose I could've been more patient but for the time being I am happy with my decision to leave Nextel and go with Cingular. The types of phones also had alot to do with my decision. I was with T Mobile before Nextel, and the phone I had, well, Nextel just seemed miles away from anything like that. But like I said, I may one day go back to Nextel, when all is done between the merger with Sprint.

Do you think Motorola will still dominate Nextel, now Nextel/Sprint with phone available? Or do you think other phone manufacturers will get in on the game of CDMA/iDEN or poss...

What I meant was, the way Nextel is and has always been, there have been only Motorola phones available that were compatible with the iDEN 800, meaning Motorola pretty much dominated Nextel by being the only phone manufacturer that made iDEN phones. My questions was, do you think once the whole CDMA/iDEN and or QChat becomes available, will it still be all Motorola phones?

But yes, you did answer my question, thank you.

ahh thanks for the explanation. you also forgot Rimm (or Research In Motion) but you are right motorola is the sole manufacturer of nextel.

" My questions was, do you think once the whole CDMA/iDEN and or QChat becomes available, will it still be all Motorola phones? "

i belive that motorola will be a big part of the cdma/iden dual phones becuase they are the only ones who could do what they are doing to make that whole thing possible. i also think that motorola will play a big role w...

yea it mentions this..

Motorola this week revealed a slew of new phones for the global and U.S. markets, including EV-DO and EDGE handsets:

i605: Bar-style iDEN phone with large color display and Bluetooth.
i930: Clamshell iDEN phone with Windows Mobile Smartphone, tri-band GSM, dual color displays, camera with LED flash, speakerphone, and SD card slot.

--

i know they have been announced, but the fcc still has to ok those phones and what not (i belive the 605 has already been oked, but not exactly sure. i know the 930 hasnt yet). when i clicked on the article,(under the full story link) i didnt see any date on when those phones will come out. obviously it might be in the 2005 maybe 2006 time frame. manufacts. always love to p...

I personally think Motorola not incorporating Bluetooth into the i930 is a bad move. I know this can still change, but if it doesnt, bad move. I mean its targeted towards business men and woman, people who would like to sync their computer with their phones and vice versa, Bluetooth is a very convenient way of doing this without having to juggle cables and so forth. I know some people dont mint, but some people do, this phone have Bluetooth would definitaly would be an accelerator in its sales, I think so at least. The i605 looks like something targeted toward contruction workers and so forth, what use will they make of Bluetooth? Yes, im sure they can. But not as much of a use as business officials would. I know these arent the only ...

well i am not sure if integrating bluetooth technology to a gsm/iden phone might hurt the rf signal on the phone. if i recall correctly they are having some problems with the signal as it is, so maybe adding the bluetooth could hurt the signal even more. if it does hurt it that would be a negative to the phone and maybe nextel might not sell any 930's which would be a waste of their money. just like the razr v3 phone that motorola came out with for cingular becuase that phone is not covered by insurance companies becuase its too expensive to make which are hurting cingular's sales with that phone.

i think its a good idea that the 930 isnt bluetooth and the 605 is. i mean the batteries on these nextel phones are terrible and more features...
