Can the speakerphone be used with the flip closed......and if not, are there any vzw clamshell phones that have speakerphones that can be used with the flip closed.

Officially the speakerphone won't work with the flip closed. I've seen instructions on other sites on how to hack the seem to enable that feature, but it's not something the phone does by default. Verizon doesn't have that as a supported feature.
