extended battery
Purchased the extended battery for this phone. After receiving it noticed that it resembled the extended battery for my old v60i except for two indentations at the ends, I decided to modify this battery and it works find. SNN5705B is the part number for the battery I modified it can be bought for about $15. FYI

Just be careful because depending upon the amount of power that the battery is supposed to be/ and actually is putting out could burn out the phone. Check to see if both batteries would be putting out the same amount of power, if so than your good.

is the extended battery the same size as the standard battery or is it thicker? if it is thicker, does the same back cover still work or it needs a different plastic cover?

its thicker. it comes with new back door.

just curious, did u purchase this from VZW? i called the 800 number and the lady told me it doesn't come with the back cover and that it just fits on the current cover and btw, $60 is pretty steep for a battery. i guess i talked another sales rep who doesn't really know their products...

yes i did purchase this from verizon. it does come with an all silver larger back cover. $60 is what i paid.

The 5705 is the same battery that was used on the Motorola 270c and v60 models that had the thick battery cover. It could be used on the V60i with the wider battery cover. It has the same capacity as the thin battery that came with the V60i. I could be mistaken but I believe that then thin version was the 5714.
It is interesting to see that it is being used on the V265. It had a great battery life on the V60i but will probably be less on the 265 with the color screen and camera
