PC not recognizing V3

HELP!! I have tried EVERYTHING. I have visited NUMEROUS forums and threads and tried everything anyone suggested. I downloaded numerous drivers, tried to point the device to the driver, uninstalling, reinstalling, called motorola... they were less than helpful, I have updated to the latest version. I just want to transfer some pictures and put a few ringtones on my phone!!!!! Can anyone please help me. I am running Windows XP. Don't know what else you would need. Thanks a bunch!!!

Maybe this is dumb. I had the same problem. Some usb cables are only used for charging the battery, some can transfer data. I had the wrong one and my computer wouldn't recognize my phone.

I used the cd with the Motorola Phone Tools on it, and I have copied pictures, videos, and made my own ringtones from mp3's.....I love this - you can copy to the phone, or from the phone back to the pc!!!
