Saw this post on HowardForums

I am here in South Florida, and me being very sneaky. I peaked on the Cingular Price sheet at a corporate store in Pembroke Pines. Specifically at the Pembroke Lakes Mall. I also confirmed the price with the manager. According to her, phone will be released probably sometime november and the prices as from the price sheet

Motorola V3
2 year contract agreement: $529.99
1 year contract agreement: $579.99
No contract: 629.99

Alot different then the prices quoted for $450. About a 200 difference. As for the packaging, no one knows. Maybe since this is Motorola's flagship phone for this year, and Cingular will be charging high amounts it will come in the metal presentation box and even include the Motoro...

Well, I guess that puts it out of the range of what I am willing to spend on a phone (especially one with a substandard phonebook), no matter how cool it is. Anyway, did you happen to get a look at what the price of the V551 or the MPX220 will be from Cingular

For this money it should! For what is merely a cell phone that is a very high price. Heck, that is what smartphones & pda phones are going for...!!! And this ain't no smartphone or pda/phone...!

On Motorola's Cingular contest website it says that if any prize's retail price is over $600 than we will have to pay taxes for the prize. It lists the V3 and the hs810 headset at $598 retail.

That seemed kinda low to me for the retail price. Also, the V551 was listed at $99. That's what made me think that the prices could not be ACTUAL RETAIL price.

No, actual retail for a combination of the V3 and the HS810 would be higher than that. The V551's retail is in line with the v400's. The v400 retails a little lower than the v551, by about $20. But that's still nowhere close to as low as $99.
