I use both carriers but....

T-mobile.... really friendly, gave me what they believed to be the right settings and no luck.

Cingular....assholes as usual. wouldn't allow me any direct access to tech support. argued with me and tried to make me believe that the settings would magically appear! what a friggin' joke! so.... now they are faxing me instructions for the v400 setup thinking they are the same as the V3. maybe they are....

To Cingular employees... sorry for my rant but my experience with your company has just totally sucked! I want to like Cingular! They just keep bending me over and disappointing.

HELP Phone gurus!!!! Please!!!!!

if you go to cingular's website, at the bottom click on other cingular sites..that will take you to a page where you can click on developers forum under "about"..on the next page in the top left hand corner it will say "device settings" that will download the settings for you in a .pdf file ..read through that and it gives you all the settings..this should also help...

Hi there... couldn't help but noticing your, um, anger towards Cingular and it's employees (which yes, I'll admit we do have some assholes employed here đŸ‘ŋ )... I am in customer service and I cannot see anyone denying you the right to speak with technical support... that is almost unheard of (at least in my call center)... just to even out the score.. the direct 800 number to tier two technical support (who are the people you need to speak to to get the unlock codes) is 866-227-0740 😉 .. as for the reps thinking that the settings on your phone would "magically apprear" they were probably thinking of the same thing T Mobile was and sending you an OTA (download) and not realizing that you needed your phone unlocked... so, any phones...

🤭

I feel like you Rachel. I work for a premium agent and I know that there are a few "polite" đŸ¤Ŗ people that work in customer service. But, it's those few that make the ones that KNOW WHAT WE'RE DOING look bad. As far as getting bad CS from Cingular, I would just hang up and call right back. Chances of you getting the same person are slim to none! 😁

đŸ˜ŗ 😲 that is so true.. lol... you never know.. you could always get me 😛 .. but let me give everyone a pointer incase you were too incompetent to figure it our for your self 😈 ... when you call in and you are yelling and screaming and swearing and telling us what we need to do right then and there you aren't going to get anywhere, I promise. Yes, we realize your bill has been screwed up for 10 months and your bill is $8,000, but if you just shut up and chill out for a sec we can fix the problem, and if they can't, I can.. haha... 😉 thanks for the back up cingulargal... keep up the good work... every company has it's assholes, and when you have a turn over rate of over 75% 🤭 you're bound to get a lot of them either o...

You folks rock! See... I am a pissed off customer but reasonable in the presence of other reasonable people.

thanks for the direct tech support number. i am sure I will be using it today. I really was refused access though by 3 different customer care employees. I was very nice and calm with these people cause I just wanted to know how to set up Internet access.

Another question though..... my phone is unlocked from cellular concepts but the phone doesn't configure itself for access and the manual settings cingular has are for the V400!!

Tmobile told me they actually take the phones apart and analyze the software to ensure their settings work with those phones. Unfortunately their manual instructions resulted in non-success as ...

As some of you may know, I am not exactly happy with my present phone or Cingular's GSM network---I think they both suck although I know the GSM network will improve but my phone won't.

I have been a Cingular customer for years and Cingular's employees have always assisted me in a curteous manner in solving my problems (billing, monthly roaming charges for phone use in the Gulf of Mexico when I've never been offshore, questions on how my phones work., etc). To deal with problems, you have to realize that all of the people on the other end of the phone are not Phi Beta Kappas---in fact I have to hope they can read and write because sometimes the employees have trouble communicating clearly. But, my problems are always solved because I have...

Sage advice. Do you make lots of spelling errots in contracts and/or legal briefs?

I was patient as hell with the people at Cingular. I played dumb and they were mean, rude, dumb and about as helpful as a tanning bed in the desert.

I hope that my experience with Cingular improves.

Well what you are doing is against cingular's policy. They DO NOT unlock their phones or any other carriers. They do not troubleshoot other carriers phones. So if they were rude, it is because they dont want to deal with your problem.
