😁 😁

As I am a cellular phone maniac, and am dying to buy this phone when it comes out. I have been calling Cingular stores day after day all around the U.S.A. Finally I got some person with knowledge, she told me Cingular emailed them, telling them to expect the phone the first week of October. But, as the girl being a Cingular employee and you know that Cingular always delays there product. So then she told me just add on 2-3 weeks from Oct. 4, the last day of the first week of october. And that gets you somewhere like near Halloween or closer to November. So be on the lookout, no prices yet. But from all the estimates I'm getting, $300 for a 2 year contract and $400-450 for no contract.

Hope this helps

Well I have a little bit of info being an employee of cingular for a long time and a phone nut as well. I have already won my v3 in the employee contest and should be one of the first to have one. but in the contest rules, motorola set the average retail value at $500. We should get them a little cheaper and with the contracts, expect $50 off for a 1 year and average $100 off for a 2 year. We are getting more info and I will be meeting with the moto rep soon so I will keep everyone informed when more info arrises.

November??? For real???

Ya know, if Motorola & Cingular keep procrastinating on the release of this phone it is gonna be released opposite or near the time the Nokia 6255i is released...

Although the 6255i is a slightly larger phone, it has *many* more features than the RAZR V3 and will probably be cheaper. Combine that fact, and that Verizon would have the Nokia 6255i on their network with their arguably better coverage, and I don't think that the RAZR V...

I don't really think they're expecting this phone to make a huge splash as you seem to think. Here's why.

In comparison to other Moto's that are or will be on the market at the same time, this doesn't have too many features that you can't find elsewhere (Save longrange BT). The phone's biggest selling point is the materials used in construction and the fact that it's DAMNED thin. The price will be a HUGE turn off for most people, who don't really wanna even pay $50 for a phone if they don't have to.

I think this is more of a design excersise than anything. It's showing what can be done, what probably will be done, and how their current design dept. thinks a cell phone should be. This is kinda like that REALLY cool concept car that...

I thought the Prowler had pretty good times, something like sub 6.0 second 0-60 times??? I don't recall it being underpowered...

For me, the price of a phone is not a big deal. As far as the features go, perfect feature set for me: PC synch, bluetooth, contacts list & calendar and hopefully hands-free voice-dialing thru a bluetooth headset... That last one may be a deal-breaker for me if it turns out that the phone does not support it, although people on here are claiming they believe it does, so we'll see...

What I also really like is the type of materials they used in the construction of the RAZR that gives it part of its awesome look. That and the fact that it is so thin & small. I have been doing a lot of sear...

I forgot to say in my previous post, the long-range bluetooth is one of the features I do *NOT* like... I wish it had the normal "short-range" (10 meter) bluetooth so I wouldn't have to worry about someone down the hall at work synching with my phone! lol

cheers again,
