how's the reception on this thing? same as the vx6100? had receptions issues like the constant switching between digital->analog->no signal. Just curious if LG has made improvements in this area on this phone.

Reception is just grand. Doesnt switch to analog much at all like the old lg models. I think its by far the best lg yet as far as reception. Hope that answers your question. OH, and the ptt connects in spots i would have never made a call before.

I have the 4700. I work for Verizon Wireless in Cincinanti, OH. I was in a theatre the other night for the new Star Wars movie, which frickin' rocked. But anyways, the guy sitting right next to me had Nextel, and his phone wouldn't even switch to Analog. It just said, searching for service. My other buddy, who I just sold a vx6100 to, was in the row in front of us. His was in Analog. The 4700 by far has the best receition of any Verizon phone on the market. Comparible to the Moto and Nokia phones.

The reception on the phone has been great. The signal bar actually is a good indicator of signal strength, and I have not gone into Analog as well. The connection for PTT has also been strong and clear.
