Hey Justpeachy. I shoulda asked you b4. Will the outer display stay on at all times displaying the time and signal strength? Or do we have to press a button to get info. I sure like those taht stay on, but color outside displays don't usually work that way. Thanks.

I don't really remember... I think it stays on all the time like on the V710, the backlight just turns off. I could be wrong though 😕

The user manual for this phone at Nokia's site says the outer display has a screen saver than can be turned on, off, or time-out.

Thanks for your response, but I still don't think it answers my original question. Can the outer display be on at all times ala the v262 showing the time and signal strength?

I deduced from reading the Nokia user manual that if the outer screen saver option is selected as "off," then the outer display of time and signal strength remains visible.

Doesn't this answer your question? If not, then I do not understand your question.

the outter screen saver is a pic that you select to be the screen saver after the wallpaper has been displayed for X amount of time (X=Screen saver Timeout). The Default Nokia screen saver(clock and half blue/half white screen) still shows up after a few minutes, no way to turn it off.
