Is anyone able to read a text message from the external display?? I need to know, so if mine is defective I can take it back. I tried calling customer care and the guy told me that this phone is so new that they don't have any thing about it. Can anyone out there help me???

You cannot read the text from the external display. The manual does say this is possible as well as some websites that sell the phone, but it is not possible. Although a few people said they were able to. I guess it must depend on the software version. This is the only reason I can think of why some can read from the external display and some can not

I played with a demo unit for a few days and I hit something and was able to read the text messaging on the outer display. What I hit, I do not know. The feature is there, but its hidden. I stopped using the phone as I needed the unit as a store display, and I need bluetooth for my business phone. Hope this helps.
