Hi, i currently have the LG VX-7000, but i really like the 8000. I've had the 7000 since the summer when i renewed my 2 year family plan. How much do you think the 8000 would cost (unactivated) and do you think it is worth it?

The 8000 costs $389.99 at full retail and in my opinion it is definately worth it. I switched from the v710 to the 8000 and paid full retail (389.99) and I don't regret it one bit. But I will say this: as far as upgrading from the 7000, the only way I would recommend it is if you are in a V-Cast area, or if you will really use the MP3 capability of the 8000.

Come on people please do not tell me you are paying full retail in todays cell phone market??? Work em a bit...tell them radio shack will give you a free phone or the booth in the mall will give you a better deal..if you work em and have been a good customer you can get it for free or almost free.

They don't give you anything for free if you just got a new phone 3 months before you are trying to get this one.

I just renewed my contract in May. And i used all of my other 2 lines in my family plan to get new phones like the 7000 and the 9900..i really really want the 8000 though.

And you guys saying "work em"..if you tell them radioshack will give you a better deal, they'll just say, "then go to Radio Shack and buy it!"

I've been a verizon customer since '98...they should give me a good deal even if my contract isn't up.

The main feature that the 8000 has that the 7000 does not is the EVDO (V-Cast). It also has an MP3 player and MP3 ringtone capability. Much more memory than the 7000 as well. 1.3 Megapixel Camera.....etc....

nope, didn't forget that. but I didn't realize that my holster that ejects my phone onto the floor was second class. Had I realized that there was a version that would pick it up for me after ejecting it, I would have definately got that one.
