You can't turn off the analog feature, I think it's just a signal issue and he needs to call VZW. And turn off the Service Tone. 🙄

holy sh!t. How dumb to you have to be???? Analog only is a feature in phones that allows you to switch to Analog service when Digital service is spotty (since with digital you completely lose the person, but with analog, it just becomes scratchy). Analog only off does NOT mean it will never go into Analog. Thus the tern analog "ONLY!". The problem is clearly with the PRL. Hopefully Verizon will fix it on their next PRL update.

Ah, analog only>off. Yes, but the phone will still go to analog if you are not getting digital signal.

I travel the midwest from ny a lot and frequently see it switch over. Can't live without it. That is one thing LG does not have over Moto. There are still many areas of the country that do not have 2g or 3g cdma...

As far as the original post on this topic, did this guy do a *228 option 2? Sounds like a PRL issue to me. Some store still use PHONE+ MENU MENU # to program phones, and that creates this problem...

I think you need to look at the phone again. The Analog only option isn't to turn the Analog off. It's to turn the Analog on so that your next call will be Analog instead of Digital. Motorola phones have always been this way since the StarTAC ST7760. That function is to use Analog for the next call in a digital area as sometimes you may get a poor digital signal. If you had no Digital Signal, the phone would still switch to Analog but will not use the PRL settings but instead use whatever you had the Automatic A or Automatic B on.
