Earpiece volume & QUESTION???

rjwindy

Ok. It REALLY sucks on the V710. The fact that the volume is so low (like the V60) is bad enough, but the design of the earpiece, making optimum listing almost impossible, makes this a big problem with this phone (afterall, if ya can't hear, all the other bells and whistles of the phone are irrelevant).

Can anyone tell me if the earpiece volume on the LG 7000 is noticeably better than the V710?

yeah but you can use the bells and whistles, i.e. bluetooth, for hearing. the earpiece has had view complaints. buy a motoroloa (weak battery life), jabra, sony ericsson bluetooth earpiece. give you much more talk time then the phone itself, plus phone is bulky by your ear...hella lot more lightweight

Yes, the LG 7000 earpiece volume is a lot louder than the v710. LG phones have very loud earpiece.

LG sound volume blows the 710 and is a much better quality phone and better UI, but just does not have all the bells and whistles the 710 has

I'm not sure what you're talking about -- The volume is fine. And this coming from someone who has a hearing loss.

When the volume on my phone is all the way up, my secretary can clearly hear both sides of the conversation...

I agree. There is noting wrong with the volume. In my apartment, I keep it on the lowest level and on the street at the highest and I can hear perfectly nomatter what.

Speaking of being on the street, the phone canceled out street noise amazingly. My friend didn't believe that I was on a busy street.

I dont think the problem with this phone is that the volume is low. The volume is perfectly fine.
What the problem is, is a design issue. They put the speaker portion so close to the edge of the handset that when you hold the phone to your ear, the speaker is no where near your ear canal.
Try positioning the handset so the speaker is closer to your the center of your ear and you will see it sounds just fine. Its does feel very awkward though which is why I am saying that it is a design issue.

I couldn't agree more... Except that after two weeks of using the phone, it doesn't fell at all awkward. You get used to that sort of thing (at least I do...)

I believe that having the speak...

I am going to agree, Earpiece volume is slightly lower, But I had the problem w/ the LG of being too short. I'm a big guy, the V710 fits my face, shoulder, much better than the LG. I can balance the phone between my shoulder and head when talking. Never was able to do this w/ the LG. If ear piece is positioned at the ear volume is good. The larger size of the v710 may prove to be too big for smaller headed folks, i.e. my wife dosent like it, her first comment " too big, and i cant hear it" after i moved the phone down, she could hear, but still said it was too big.

The V60 isn't low on volume as I upgraded from a v60c but the v710 is low as I could hardly hear what the other person said.

Once the phone gets into wide circulation and I have a few in the shop I can afford to lose, I will try that p2k man/seem element alteration. I had the same issue with the v120e when it came out, then Moto came out with the lens with widened audio ports. They may go that route here...

Do all your phones sound tinny, almost on the verge of static?

I've spent so much time evaluating the gadgets and interface, I didnt do a lot of calling until today, day 2.

Whether on the handset, the speakerphone or my wired headphones, the sound quality is high pitched, almost distorted.

Unlike everyone else, I find the volume level ok...I have to turn it down to make it sound better.

If I had to rate my last three phones, all CDMA, w/verizon, the Nokia early i would be an 8, the Moto timeport a 10 and this one a 3. I know this is subjective....

I'm either going to return it or go to the store and listen to another one....don't know if there's a point to exchanging it if they're all the same

No, mine do not. Are you on an analog signal? That would do it. Either way, I would exchange that puppy...

Let me know, I am curious to see if these speakers in the earpiece are gonna be an issue... I will stock up on those too.

Actually, it's a good idea to get them in stock but atleast you can fix the phones easier than a end-user can.

We do most repairs in the shop, the only thing we are not authorized to do is change the main board and ESN. This phone is the hardest I have ever seen to work on. It does not come apart without marring the plastics...

Level 2, have you taken this phone apart?

My theory is that it's not S/W but that they but a tiny thin speaker in the headset...they are trying to save weight and space. The place where the speaker is is really thin and tapered. it's on top of a relatively large and heavy screen (had anyone else noticed that the balance of this phone is a bit top heavy)

LOL>.. yes I have had it apart, and it is a typical sized speaker. the issue is the size and shape of the hole. give it some time, I am sure it will change...
