Confirmation of August 11th??
Does anyone have confirmation from VZW that the phone will actually be out in all the stores with adequate stock on August 11th? I have asked a few times in the past few days and no one can give me a straight answer in a VZW store. You would think they would be able to if the phone is coming out tomorrow.

Customer service is saying Aug. 11...but I am getting the same response when I call a store or visit. They act like I am asking for some top secret information, and give me some jarble that it won't be out till "next week" or "end of the month" or "there is no set time frame as of yet." I mean...this is ridiculous.
I wonder if the employees are doing this so they can get the phones themselves. I know that someone posted on this site that they are not allowing employees to buy the phones when they first come out, but I wonder...

Burlington, MA - 2 weeks

Peabody - Couple weeks
Customer service phonecalls always say 11th though.

I, too, hate this game they are playing. I called three Verizon stores in Las Vegas yesterday (Monday) and was told by two of them that they "think" it may be out Wednesday..or Thursday.. possibly Friday. They have no information. yet a third store I called said he already had them in, but won't sell them until the official launch on Wednesday. You'd think they were making this a Grand Opening Special the way Verizon is treating it. What difference does it really make if stores start selling them as soon as they get them? Why wait until Wednesday. It's not as if they are running a special promotion where you might get a free Bluetooth accessory if you are one of the first buyers.

Just went to VZW store, and my rep told me it was pushed back to the 17th. Don't know if it's just that location, but she's been pretty straight with me so far, so I guess i'll find out.

I went to the Radio Shack in downtown Los Angeles to get a look at this be-all-and-end-all phone that I've been waiting for for months. Although I don't think anything can live up to that level of hype, I was so not impressed; I am would only buy it on a deep discount. For me, it was too big, felt too flimsy, and had a crummy screen (outside, and shockingly, inside) for the $300 they wanted for it as a Verizon customer.
I have only ever had Motorola phones, and my next one will (I hope) be a Moto, but the V710 ain't gonna be it. âšī¸

For those in New Jersey, I called two stores...
Princeton (Mercer Mall) -- yes they will have the phones tomorrow. They are not taking any reservations for it though. (609-452-6767)
I called the new Hamilton,NJ Store and they have about 23..and they ARE taking reservations. Not sure how many they have left unreserved. (609-581-6040). Talk to Nick.

The verizon near me in Georgia has 4 boxes of 12, 48 total in stock. I will be there when they open at 9 just to make sure.
