Any truth to *228?

Anybody know if the phone is really goin to be able to be upgraded by calling *228 and choosing option 1?

No, this type of programming wont upgrade your software(if thats what you're asking. You have to go into a store to have it flashed. The *228 opt. 1 and 2 are for programing of esn's, roaming capabilities, etc., but not for the upgrade.

From what I was told by a Verizon technician in store is that the feature *228 is only used to update "Roaming" profiles as more become available. I haven't heard of it distributing "air-free" software downloads.

true *228 is only for upgrading roaming information and initial programming.....upgrades that are released by moto will have to be flashed in a VZW store...
