Going into Analog mode...

I noticed yesterday that my phone was going into Analong or no signel alot.... First few days I had both my V710 and T720 (while I was getting my #'s out of the 720) and the V710 had more bars, but yesterday it seemed like it was going out a lot and had low bars... I had done a #228 to update but that didn't seem to help.. anyone else notice it?

Sorry you are going through this issue. There are several steps yo can take in order to correct this problem. On of them would be going into your system menu and selecting "automatic B". It might be that your phone is set to "Auto. A" or even in "Home only". Your phone has to be on "Auto. B" Try this out.

After complaining about my A310 earlier, I just looked and it's been on Auto A since I picked it up from Radio Shack over a year ago. Never once read about Auto B until now, but a Google search does say Auto B is correct.

Thanks...

Wow, a year????? Thats interesting. I am a VZW customer service rep. in Laurel, Md just so you dont think I'm BSing you. Did you switch it over to Auto. B? If so, does it not show analog anymore?

Would this possibly be a solution to the same problem I am having w/ my T720? I checked and it is in Auto A.... should I switch it to Auto B? What does this do?

Yes, this will indeed be a problem. Please switch over to Auto. B. Auto. A is used while you are out of your area where you are roaming. This type of mode will allow you to use service from another provider (roaming) This is only intended to be in use while out of your footprint especially when "roaming" and even in "extended network". Auto. B is the mode we (vzw) work off.

It wasn't going analog a LOT, but I'd see it every once in a while in the apartment.

My biggest complaint has been lost signal, or finding messages left when the phone never rang while I was driving.

At worst, it'll do no good, but I can see from other webpages that it might help a lot.

Thanks again...

No I know about the Auto B, and I did make sure it was on that, which it was..
