Well i finally got my papers, and after going to the website i am more confused than ever. I know im not going to get the Q like i wanted, as my date comes before its more than likely release. Im debating between;

1. V3C [the favorite]
2. A970 (splurging for the money)
3. VX8100
4. a950
5. 9800 (the V)
6. Treo 650

Help!

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO BUY WITH YOUR SETTLEMENT AND WHY?

Thanks!

I'm confused. Are you still with Verizon? I thought the only way to get a check was to leave Verizon, otherwise the credit went towards the new phone. The way I understand it is you get only the amount you spend on the new phone, up to the limit of what you spent originally on the V710.

Option 2: Under this option, you will be entitled to terminate the line for which you activated your V710 phone without an early termination fee and return your V710 phone and any accessories specified in the Notice of Settlement in the prepaid mailer for a full refund (with proof of amounts paid) or $200 refund (withou

I get it now. Cancel, get the check, and then sign back up again? No guarantee that you will get your old phone number back, but for some that probably does not matter.
Wish I had thought of that before sending in the forms. Now I am stuck with turning in the 710, buying a new phone, and getting up to the amount of the new phone or what I paid for the V710, whichever is less. 😑

why the face? if you ahve your reciepts you can get some cool stuff - if you paid enough. For instance - i have enough to get the RAZRWIRES. If it hadnt been for this, id never have the opportunity to get $300 glasses like this! cash in on some cool accssories!

I've ordered an e815 because it seems to be the only phone that is not mucked up with that awful Verizon interface and can be hacked to enable at least some of the BT functionality. My wife has the Verizon Razr. To me it is slow and awkward.

I opted for the phone exchange but now it looks like that is a loser proposition. Assuming you exchange the phone for an E815 or V3C, you are getting a phone that would cost you perhaps $80 after a $50 NE2 credit which most of us early adopters are about to become eligibel for. Why not pay the $80 and keep the V710? They are selling on ebay for a lot more than that if you wanted to unload it. In other words, why unload it to Verizon for $80 when you can keep it as a spare or unload it on ebay for $150? The exchange works well if you want a $300 phone but there are not many of those anymore unless you want a PDA phone and those require a more expensive data plan.

Am I missing something here or is it you guys? The way I understand it is, I PURCHASE a new phone on the V710 Exchange site, activate it upon receipt, return my 710 with receipts and I get a refund of EVERYTHING I paid for the phone and any accessories so long as I have the receipts. I ordered the V for $150. I have receipts in the amounts of a little over $400. (Phone, Extended Life Battery, Three Leather Cases and two of the newer plasticy rubber style clips) I will be stuffing all that crap into the package and sending it all back to them with the receipts and they will be sending me a check. Am I misunderstanding something?

You get a refund of the amount you spent on the new phone, up to the price you paid for the V710 and qualified accessories. (Only certain V710 accessories qualify for credit). If you have receipts on the V710 and stuff for $400, and you spend $150 on the V, then you get $150 refund on what you spent on the V. This is why many are going for more expensive phones or adding a lot of accessories to the order.
