I have the V710 and I am with Alltel. I only got this phone because of the bluetooth capability. We tried to use bluetooth to put ringtones on it and that would not work so I bought the USB cable with the mobile phone tools CD to put custom ringtones directly from my computer to my phone. However, I am not smart enough to make that work either. Can anyone tell me how to put the ringtones on my phone? I made sure they are converted to MP3's, honestly the cable wont let me do anything from computer to phone. HELP!!

The easiest way to do it if you cant use bluetooth (like the ****ty verizon version) is to use the memory card. This also means that you need a way to connect your sd mini to transfer data to it from the computer. I use my printer which has memory card slots.

-Use itunes or any other program that you can edit a song to your favorite thirty second clip.
-Transfer the new short song clip to the memory card.
-Put memory card into phone and go into media gallery sounds.
-highlight song clip, use menu button and select copy.
this will send a copy to your phones memory. then swith storage device and select the ring tone.

Ok...so does that mean that I cannot just use the phone tools usb cable to put the ringtones on there? Where do I get a memory card. Is it somewhere on my phone or do I have to buy one?

Copy isnt an option on my phone. If its not on yours either, the way i do it is ill go into the media gallery -> Sounds (make sure its on transflash) -> Highlight the clip you want sent -> Menu Button -> Send In Message

send it as if it was a pic message to 1111 (No Charge) and its in your outbox, then go into your outbox

Open The Pic Message -> Menu Button -> Save Items -> File and Save To Phone

Hopefully the first will work for you - if not this is just as easy (seems longer than it is)
