http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/footer/ legalNotices/v710.jsp:
Final Hearings on the proposed settlement have been scheduled for January 17, 2006 (class members included in the initial mailing), and March 16, 2006 for class members who were included in the supplemental mailing. This website will be updated shortly thereafter, so please check back for additional information on the settlement.

So this means we have two more days until the last of this has been finalized. It's about time too. I'm on of the few that purchased this phone on the day it was released out of contract for about $450. I'll sure be looking forward to getting this check sometime.

My understanding is you will not get any sort of "check" for your $450 purchase. You will get a replacement phone valued up to your purchase price with no refund for the balance. If you want a $199 RAZR phone in exchange, then that is it. They have taken so long to do this settlement that I am wondering if I should even exchange the phone. Those who bought when it first came out are only a couple of months from getting a NE2 credit. Then they could get the same RAZR for $99 and keep the V710. Will they let us exchange the V710 under the same contract and then ask for another new NE2 phone in 4 months? This deal is looking more like a loser the longer they wait unless you don't lose your NE2 credit and timing or you want an expensive s...

I purchased my v710 out of contract about 6 months into a 2yr agreement. My contract was up in October so I signed a new 2yr, used my NE2 and got a $50 rebat...

I see what you are referring to but I never considered the option, as you are planning to do, of giving up my Verizon service. They may not let you take that option and pick out a new phone and sign a new contract. I always planned on taking option 3 and get the credit up to the phone purchase price.

So I got my form from VZW. I'm actually quite surprised not to see anyone else post on this since it has been a couple of weeks sitting here. It looks like you'll get your full reciept price of the phone, so us early adopters will get our $300 back as a check after we purchase the new phone, but you'll forfeit NE2 since the claim must be submitted by May, and all of us first adopters got the phones in August of '04.

Thanks for pouring salt on that wound....if that is correct, I will either go out of contract and stay that way, or sign a 1 year. Verizon has clearly proven that customer loyalty is not important, especially given the new NE2 terms we'd be bound to with a new crippled phone. (not that I am bitter or anything) Plus with...
