I don't think so. I know that England uses GSM -- not sure about the Bahamas though. The v710 is not the hybrid GSM/CDMA phone you'd need; however, VZW has announced such a phone. Based on its phone rollouts, we may get that phone in ... maybe 2006?

If you check under Plans and select International Plans you can find information on the Bahamas. England is a no go. You can rent a phone for a cool $300 deposit but for one trip, probably not worth the effort. VZW already released a CDMA/GSM phone but only to special people (Business 2 Business). I think the Moto A840 is the V710 without BT but with GSM. The 2006 release date suggested by sgoldwa is probably pretty close for this one! 😳
