v710 vs v810
Upon first hearing about the 710 and 810 - I just assumed I'd get the 810 when it came out (figured later model would indicate more features). After reading many of the posts - it seems to me that:
- The v710 is a better phone (ie: Bluetooth, expansion card, MP3, Speakerphone, self interpreting voice-dial).
- The v710 will most likely come out before he v810 (even though it seems the v810 was supposed to be out long before the v710)
1. Am I correct that the v710 is a better phone and has many features the v810 doesn't have? Is there any reason to get the v810 over he v710? (the specs list "USB" next to the v810, but not with the v710)
2. Am I also correct that the v710 should get to market first?

1.Bluetooth, mp3 playback, and a speakerphone are a few of the many reasons why the v710 is superior. The v810 seems cheaper and much less technologically advanced. In terms of the USB, Phonescoop's facts aren't always right, there is a good chance that the v710 does support USB.
2. The v710 will mostr likely be out before the v810, but even if its not, I'd wait for it to come out.

I agree with issarules1. The v710 looks to be a far superior phone. The only things I can see that the 810 has going for it would be that its smaller and lighter, and it apparently has an amazing color screen (260,000 colors). I'm not sure exactly how that compares to the v710's screen or if its even worth it. It will also most likely be cheaper if that matters to you.
I'd still agree that its better to go for the v710 which appears to be coming out sooner anyway.

BlueTooth permits one to sync their phone with their computer without the use of cables. It's a infrared wireless connection. This permits one to put in all theri contacts and phone numbers, use the phone with computer for internet connection and so on.
Even some new automobiles have this where you can sync your phone with the cars audio system to hear and speak into a microphone that was built into the car. An example is the new Acura 2004 TL and a few other manufacturers. 🙂

Actually, bluetooth uses microwave frequencies and not IR. Bluetooth is more akin to 802.11 WiFi than to IR since it does require direct line of sight to transfer data.

I'm hoping that the V710 will be out soon. My car recognizes BlueTooth. With several laws passed recently, you can't use your cell phone unless it's handsfree. -- At least where I live.

Bluetooth is not infrared (which is light based and requires line of site between the 2 devices). Bluetooth operates on a wireless frequency (I believe it's in the 2.4GHz band). Bluetooth is designed to pair 2 devices together. A lot of people want a Bluetooth phone so they can use a Bluetooth wireless headset like the Jabra.
