V710 comes with T-Flash slot

In the second fotobin picture in the "New pix" thread, I noticed that there was a SIM-card-sized dark-grey card lying to the phone's left. Considering the recent announcement of Motorola's T-Flash storage card format, and the fact that most SIM cards are not dark-grey, I think it's safe to assume that the V710 will COME WITH A T-FLASH SLOT! 😎

This is old news. The pics that Rich posted of the V710 from the CTIA Wireless 2004 clearly show a T-Flash slot at the top of the phone. And if you look at this Motorola V710 fact sheet put up on Motorola's web site last week, one of the items in the feature list is "TransFlash memory expansion slot supporting up to 128MB".

According to this page: http://commerce.motorola.com/consumer/QWhtml/ products/V710.html , the sot on the top of the phone is an SD card slot and not a t-flash slot :/

No, what it says is "SD compatible" which is what the TransFlash card is. 🙄

Hmm, didn't realize that until after my post 🤭 . Guess I will have to buy a couple t-flash cards when I get the phone, oh well.

Of course, one must actually own the phone in order to do much else... like make calls etc. Glad I'm not holding my breath.... 😕

TransFlash (formerly known as T-Flash) is an SD compatible type of memory card. All you need is an adapter and it will work in an SD card slot. Here's a quote from the following SanDisk press release on TransFlash.

"When inserted into an available SD adapter, TransFlash converts into the SD card for interoperability with standard SD devices so consumers can exchange data between their TransFlash-equipped mobile phone and any SD compatible host, such as a digital camera, PDA or laptop PC. "

And this press release about TransFlash from SanDisk references that it will be in the Motorola V710.
