I called them today, at the number that was listed at this message's origination, and the radio shack rep. said there is no release date for the phone yet.

You people are nuts. Radio Shack doesn't get anything until after vzw gets things. They haven't even started official testing yet, but you all really believe that the guy from radio shack has all the info. . .please share what you are smoking

You people are funny, all of you that said the phone isn't going to be released anytime soon, are , well, WRONG!!!! Called my buddy today, who works for Verizon Wireless. They already have the phone "IN STOCK", they are just waiting for the release date. And for all of you who are stating that it was just shown at the CTIA show, well here is a flashback, Remember the MOT T720, well it was released 1 week after it was shown at the CTIA show. And for all of those that state it hasn't even started going into official testing, well why in the H3ll would they show it, and even let you play with it at the CTIA show if it hasn't been through there own official testing.

Did your friend say how many are in stock? What city is he in?

Rumor has it that NY, Chicago, Las Vegas, and LA are VZW's test markets for new phones/services. So it would be released in one of these cities first or nationwide.

He lives in the Chicago area, but the city where he works is Elgin Illinois though.

Also, all the other phone sites lit the phone being available at the end of Q1, such as this site

Ok, just got off the phone with my buddy in Chicago, he stated that the phone will not be out within 3-4 days, more like 1-2 weeks. They can not release a phone unless they have them out to all their stores first which usually takes 1-2 weeks. He also said it past testing on March 19th.

Spoke to the reps at the Verizon store in the Menlo-Park Mall in Jersey. They seem pretty knowledgeable on up and coming phones and websites such as this one. They said the next release will be the Blackberry with color screen and the V710 at the end of June.

what about the 9900? Thats supposed to be out in next few days by all accounts? Either way, us VZW users will finally have video soon, Yippee Kiyay

Talk about scoops.....but from sources from verizonwireless themselves say the phone is out for testing on a select few and probably be due out in 2 months or so....the earliest i hear of it coming out would be a month if everything goes great with the phone....i have seen the phone...so holler back if u want some info on it

i saw the phone with a rep from headquarters....it was black color...nice streaming video recording....similar size to the motorola 730 but not so thick...excelent sound quality....she said it was still in testing for another couple of months...but that was a month ago...she only dropped by my store for a couple of hours
