Ring Tones on V710
🙂 There is a way to put ring tones on the new v710 from vz without hacking the phone. Its easy and anyone can do it. I had planned to put a PDF file up here with all the instructions, but I can't add the PDF file.
If anyone has an idea on how to get the PDF file out to the user of this forum, I would be glad to do it.

Im interested in the pdf file, i had an older version on this phone and it got stolen so i got a new one two days ago and the guy at verizon said that verizon disabled the transfering of mp3s from the tf card to the phone. If you could sent that info to me at jstamp627@yahoo.com i would greatly appreaciate it.

hey phone tech, I tried loading a ringtone exactly how you said to on your pdf, but all I got on my v710 was packet data and what looked like something downloading, then my phone would say no service. thats it, nothing downloaded. am i doing something wrong?

Go into the message and select download (right softkey). This should download the sound file. Make sure you are in a good digital signal area, the phone should have a 1X at the top of the screen and have a few bars next to the antenna on the screen.

oh ok. well Luckie, maybe you can help out then. THere is no message on my phone to access the ringtone. like i said, it looks as if it is downloading something, then turns off for a second and comes back up with a "no service" displayed for a second and is back to normal. but I receive no message. I'm setup on vzwpix.com so I have no idea what to do. I'm probably just going to wait and get the transflash and do the false message method. I'm not going to try seem editing (especially since i don't even have a cable to do that with) and void my warranty.

nevermind. I just now received the message with the atatched ringtone. that really disappoints me that it took nearly 12 hours to send to my phone. but at least I know it does work.

I sent a mp3 to my V710 phone and got it as a qcp file. I can play it and store it but can't use it as a ringtone? What am I doing wrong?
